Oldest son of famed reggae musician Bob Marley, Ziggy is an Grammy winning songwriter/musician. In addition, he also owns and operates Tuff Gong Worldwide and contributes to many non-profit organizations.

Kazayah

Comparisons to the likes of Marcia Griffiths, Lauryn Hill and JAH 9 is undoubtedly high praise, however it’s quite clear why Kazayah would be receiving these kinds of accolades. Born from two Jamaican parents in Evanston Illinois (just outside of Chicago), Shanelle “Kazayah” Mitchell is a first generation American who fully has the energy of her Jamaican culture and heritage flowing through her veins. Her infectious music is the biggest testament to this.

Kazayah began singing as a child, and developed an early understanding of music as a universal spiritual language that can unite, uplift, and inspire. Her work with Chicago producer Ras Wadadah II helped make the connection to roots-reggae that has blossomed ever since, now she is considered one of most promising female vocalists and songwriters in the whole world of Reggae.

In a time decades before artist-owned record labels were commonplace, the legendary Bob Marley’s vision was characteristically well ahead of its time. Now, nearly a half-century later, his dream is being realized. With Tuff Gong Worldwide, Ziggy Marley continues a dream of his father to own and manage not only his own music, but nearly every aspect of his career. From record label operations to book publishing, Ziggy not only records and releases all of his recent solo studio albums and DVDs via Tuff Gong Worldwide (including the Grammy-winning albums Love Is My Religion and Family Time, and the new release Wild and Free), but also has become a force in the graphic novel / publishing industry with the release of the Marijuanaman series and children’s book ‘I Love You Too’ .
